Electoral Disasters
Thought it might be an idea to have a list of perceived political gaffs on here from all sides of the political spectrum. If at all possible, please try to avoid debating any of them on this thread, as there'll be plenty of opportunities on other threadss.
1/. JRM - upsetting comments about Grenfell which makes the Tories look like uncaring toffs.
2/. Borrowing plans of Labour - admitting that taxes will have to increase.
3/. Borrowing plans of Tories, basically saying they'll borrow the same amount.
4/. Policy of Lib Dems ref article 50 - basically stating that if they get a majority (which usually means 35-40% of the electorate) given them a mandate to overrule the actual 52% of the electorate as indicated in the referendum.
5/. Labour claims that the Tories will cut a deal with the US with regards to the pharmaceutical industry, which will mean that ALL imported medicines from ALL countries will rise in cost, even though we only import 10% from the US.
6/. Labour's claim of a rise to £500 million being outsourced to USA for medicines stated as credible and demonstrable, even though the author(s) of the figures said that these figures were unreliable.
