Rediscovering music.

I've been a talk radio fan for years lbc on morning to night, but so very bored of brexit I've found myself looking anew at music.

Amazon prime fan so I downloaded Amazon music and wow I've transported back to my youth, David Cassidy, David Essex the osmonds, Neil diamond, bread, smokie the list goes on. I'm 15 again

I am sure I'll move more into the present as I look around the site but wow isn't music great !

I can see why nom, I used to enjoy it myself but rediscovering it has been an eye opener. How it affects mood and makes me feel.

Re: Rediscovering music.

I couldn't live without music Julie. It's been the soundtrack to my life - either making it or listening to it! I've been pretty much bedridden for the past month with a horrible viral inner ear infection. Every time I try to stand, I get dizzy, disorientated and start to vomit. Without my music I would have gone totally doollally by now!!!

Re: Rediscovering music.

The only problem I find is that the older I get the more music there is to listen to, both new stuff and stuff I have missed in years gone by. I believe there is an 'official' name for the psychological condition this problem causes when it becomes all-consuming.
Thank the Gods for 6Music and Spotify or else I would be permanently skint.

Re: Rediscovering music.

My love has been rekindled by Amazon music enough there to keep me happy for many years I already had Amazon prime so it's not costing any extra at all. A bargain as they say.

Re: Rediscovering music.

There's so much out there, Julie.
Music is my life and I'm into all genres (except rap and boy/girl bands and the current state of chart music - but, hey, we're no longer teenagers are we?), but the classics are always worth seeking out.
Enjoy your revival!

Re: Rediscovering music.

I couldn't live without my music. I have a Google Play Music subscription and I've uploaded all my songs there.

That way I can listen to all my favourites on or offline plus discover new music.

Re: Rediscovering music.

My husband is a bit of a classic nut so when he's here we are rather saturated with his choices. We all love classical but he virtually listens to nothing else.

Only music I don't get is rap and our late tasha rather confused me with her goth music. So depressing that was but she loved it !

I went through a goth phase in the mid-1980's, but at least they were bands who had derived from the old days of punk - The Cure, The Damned, Siouxsie & The Banshees.
I think it was when more recent bands like Evanescence, Sisters of Mercy and Nick Cave came along that the genre became a model for depression and gloom.
