To be honest I can't remember what a fax machine was capable of and why I needed it in the first place? My printer prints and scans and was very cheap and before that I had a printer and separate scanner.
So - at last we have the answer, a printer that scans enables 'no' need for a fax ! Hoorah
Thanks

Well some of us still have our original printer we bought with our first computer frivolous we think to just buy new equipment before the old stuff wears out.

Hey, if your printer and fax does the job then bobs your uncle. I have no problem with that. I would even consider buying a fax machine myself if it made life easier for me.

Wait. Did you bless the printer and fax machine by the way? That might account for why it has lasted so long surely .

We don't have a fax we use the one at work, but I doubt we blessed the printer as it came into my life before I was into blessing anything. Even now inanimate object will rarely be considered for a blessing

Re: FAX - Why .....?

I had a fax machine many years ago (chucked out when paper got stuck inside) and would come home and find 'spam' faxes. (Advertising) Waste of my precious paper.

Re: FAX - Why .....?

If its important and private you need a fax as they cant be hacked into like computers thats why goverment MI5 and banks still use them , I have worked with many companies who dont trust a computer but will fax instead

Re: FAX - Why .....?

You can scan a signature into the computer so that you use it to 'sign' documents but it's quite a rigmarole with getting it accepted.

Nobaggage has thought of one I hadn't and that is that faxes are hackproof.
