Are things more stressful these days?

Lots of people seem to say it is, what do you think?

I think we worry more about the future with all the terrorist attacks and wondering what will be the news every time we turn on the television.

Not really Sarah, I think that the older you get the slower you become, and because the world around you seems faster, it appears more stressful.....

Technology stresses us out, using the phone to make what used to be straightforward call can be exasperating.

I think I'm less stressed as an older retired woman but I do find the world a fearful place . I get stressed when faced with problems in the house that need urgent repairs I can't do , I've been ripped off and worry it may happen again .

I think things aren’t straightforward any more.
For instance, you ring up a company. Years ago, you would ask switchboard for the person you wanted to speak to and your problem was usually sorted.
Not these days, you have to choose an option, then you have to wait for ages whilst boring music is played. This goes on and when you finally get through, they fob you off with a load of gobbledygook rubbish!!

I think stress depends on your life style and people around you. As Cinderella says phone call grr press this number then the other before you reach the person you want. Just hassle. Then ones children who cannot get a home of their own and are still at home when one wants a quiet life. Your child whom you try to help when they cannot make ends meet. Nothing but stress.

When l was younger, working and bringing up five children, l didn’t have time to get stressed.

My stress started when l retired, as l have too much time to think about ME!!

Upgrading from an old flip cell phone to the latest and greatest and learning how to use it was stressful.

I wanted and still do want to throw the thing off a high place but can't find a bridge high enough.

Everything in life is on a "need to know" basis
If you don't need it, you don't learn it (naturally)
