That IS a public place you know.......
I accept that you have to know your dog before you are at the stage of letting it off the lead. Ours is a rescue, picked up as a stray by the dog warden so we had no prior history other than his ten days at the rescue centre. A guy a few doors away also has a collie and it is never on the lead so we asked him.
"Leave the lead on but let go of it."
We did. He was fine. So we took it off and that was that. Just four weeks in. He is just a very good boy as you can probably gather from the pics in some of my posts. Post #39 for example.
We have little grandchildren stay over from time to time and he lies outside their bedroom door. He would get in bed with him but we don't allow that. Unsupervised.
But this little guy's mother was cool with it. Another grand child. It was love at first sight. He ran in the door and his first action was to rush over to Max, the dog, and throw his arms around him. Max stayed glued to him for the duration of their visit here.
