Quite surprisingly, the petition against ISIS member returning to UK, which raised nearly 600,000 signatures. Most constituencies were in the 300/400/500 /600/700/ up to over 2000 's signatures. Diane Abbotts constituency didn't even manage 200 signatures. The lowest number in any London constituency .

Domestic violence can also be a contributory factor. Kids growing up with that, due to alcohol, drugs or for whatever reason are going to be affected.

A comment on LBC, the police and government can't arrest their way out of this problem. The solutions are not insurmountable, political expediency is.

Try telling that to the dumb judge who gave this chap a slapped wrist!

Kyle Davis, 18, received suspended sentence at Birmingham Magistrates' Court
Teenager pleaded guilty to possession of a knife and possession of cocaine
Davis had previously received a police caution for possessing a knife aged 14
Anti-knife crime campaigners expressed outrage after Davis avoided prison...

Davis laughed as he swaggered out of Birmingham magistrates’ court, taking a selfie on his phone to record his glee at escaping prison.

Only a few miles away three teenagers had lost their lives in 12 days of carnage that police leaders described as a ‘national emergency’.

In London, two boys aged 15 – one caught with a hooked knife and the other with two hidden blades – were let off with youth rehabilitation orders yesterday.

Last September the teenager from Erdington in Birmingham was stopped by officers who suspected he was dealing drugs.

Davis fled but was captured with a lock knife, five bags of cannabis and three wraps of cocaine.

He admitted possessing the knife and drugs and received a six-month prison sentence suspended for two years after obtaining a reference from a charity called Bringing Hope.

Sean Evans, the chairman of the bench, told him: ‘We believe you have the character to change and we want to give you that opportunity.’

Alison Cope, right, lost her son Joshua, left, to a stabbing in Birmingham in 2013. She was outraged that Davis received a suspended sentence after admitting carrying a blade

Davis was told to carry out 280 hours of unpaid work and 40 days of rehabilitation. He must also pay £300 in costs.

After the hearing, his lawyer told the Mail: ‘A suspended sentence can be more onerous than a custodial sentence of six months because now he is going to have this hanging over him for two years.’

But the sentence provoked fury from knife campaigners.

Re: Knife Crime - Petition to Parliament

Now 46,392 but slowing, probably because the government are now under pressure from other quarters.

Nevertheless, the number of signatories is tens of thousands more than any other petition on knife crime that I've seen .....

Re: Knife Crime - Petition to Parliament

Currently 52,720 signatures - at 100,000 signatures, this petition will be considered for debate in Parliament. By then, however, the prime minister will, probably, have held, or will be holding, a proposed summit in No 10 with ministers, community leaders and victims to explore what can be done

I suggest that some attempt is made to find out exactly what "Gangs" exist, in an area.

I think we know that it is probably gang culture and control which results in newbies being sent out to hurt someone as part of the joining test.

We also need to be open in discussing what culture these people are from. - so that we can remain aware of where they will come at us from!
