Black elder sulking

I finally moved my remaining plants from my previous abode to here, and my lovely young black elder is not happy

Ok, I know it's a bad time to move things, but everything else has coped ok. I've lopped off all buds, but it has a serious droop. Will it recover in time, or should I bid it farewell and get a new one?

Hi Orangutan, I am advised by Better Half that you should cut it right back and continue to water. Assuming you took enough root and kept them damp then it should recover. Hope this helps....

It's probably somewhat different here to where you are, but.

If you watch the old locals, who know a thing or two about plants, shrubs and trees, they cut them back to just above ground level.

They then seem to come back stronger and more vigorous.

Re: Black elder sulking

It's a bit small for a picture really. Only about 8 inches above ground, but plenty of healthy new leaves. Next year hopefully it will flower again and I'll do a picture then!
