The only benefit to remaining in the EU is financial.

As shropshiregirl has said, these benefits are concentrated, they have not been shared across everyone.

The downsides of the EU, the latest one being a proposal for the EU to set tax rates in every member country, far outweigh the benefits of staying in.

We get membership of the single market ... others get access

Hi

A world of difference, they can sell most things tariff free, but that does not include services and they are subject to non tariff schedules and quotas.

It is important that we leave, it is not all about money.

Along with the others who have answered your post.

The UK does not have a trade deficit with the EU although they do have one with most of the member countries.

The largest trade deficit is with Germany. In 2016 the UK imported £75 billion in goods and services from Germany, and sold £49 billion. Although the UK has a trade deficit with Germany, France and the Netherlands3, they are the second, third and fourth most important destinations for UK exports.3 Jan 2018

I reckon that with a little bit of research you could have found out all you need to know.
Surely when using the acronym EU you are describing the collective which forms the EU.Therefore l would like top know what the collective
Figures are as compared with UK figures. As regards doing research I'm sorry but l have only had seven days learning to use a computer and l have never owned cellphone let alone a smartphone l beg your pardon.Regards Donkeyman.

The Aussies really didn't say much at all there tbh...........and two of the items they actually admitted were true so that has not benefitted your narrative at all.

Yes they did but they also reported on the environmental benefits and the advancement of engineering better motors

So, a mix of Debunked myths and reality with positive benefits

Re: Benefits of EU membership?

In all seriousness, I cannot think of any real benefit of remaining a member of the EU.

Some suggested benefits, such as the EHIC, are not exactly benefits at least to the country as a whole, as Europeans will not have the same benefit when we lose ours. Presumably it works both ways.

Some people do, of course, benefit from EU membership. Businessmen can freely import cheap labour from East European countries, whereas they cannot freely import people from outside the EU.
