Odd-looking Church in need of identificaion

I'm posting this for a friend on a genealogical website.
he says this

'Looking at the tower, could it be an old church with the front buildings later (perhaps Victorian additions). That little conical roof at the front is quite distinctive. It came from an album of Cartes de Visite dating from 1860's - 1890's which were mainly southern England, London, Winchester, Hastings, Southampton being amongst them.'

Any ideas ? we've all been googling but no luck so far

Re: Odd-looking Church in need of identificaion

Can't help you, to me the tower looks newer than the church.

The style of the church looks very much like St Pauls at Hooton near us, without the conical bit
The church was built between 1858 and 1862 to a design by James K. Colling for the Liverpool banker R. C. Naylor at a cost of £5,000 (£350,000 as of 2013)

Can't find a view of the church at the angle which resembles
your photo.
