Shivering Sunday chat

It's a chilly one today - dry as dry can be but still well sub zero. The sun is trying to make an appearance - it will be very welcome.
I'm off to my mum's shortly, so, have a good day, keep warm and safe and I'll be back to chat this evening, hopefully

Re: Shivering Sunday chat

Morning DM, morning everyone

It's a beautiful crisp, sunny day here....not a cloud to be seen. Temperature is still below zero but no sign of snow here.

I hope Dandysmom and other US friends are coping in the awful conditions in the US.

Stay warm, stay safe.

Re: Shivering Sunday chat

Morning Dinahsmum and Everyone. It is a wee bit cold up here as well - even a wee drop snow fell, which I hope will be gone sooner, rather than later I hate the snow!

Enjoy your day, everyone, whatever you will do

Take care.

It's a beautiful day here in Cornwall. We have wall to wall sunshine and it is degrees warmer than it has been.
I'm off to ride my horse so hope the sand school has thawed if not it's a hack round the lanes.
Enjoy your Sunday all.

Re: Shivering Sunday chat

Awful here in the High Peak. Snow on and off all morning, interspersed with a bit of sunshine, but very, very cold. So cold these last few days that I have actually brought my two guinea pigs into the house, and here they will stay now until spring.

Cannot use the van - didn't think to pull it off the drive and onto the road yesterday before the snow got bad, and the drive is on a slope, so will have to dig it out at some time when the snow stops, which looks like it might be tomorrow!

Am looking after some animals for two families who have gone away for Christmas, so today have had to walk about 5 miles to get to them and feed them!

Oh happy days!!

Snow is now about 6 inches deep and still falling on and off.

How I hate the winter!

Re: Shivering Sunday chat

Hi, all. Well, the blizzard is over and the City is slowly trying to recover, Sun is shining and the wind chill is -9 C! Miraculously my street has been plowed and the public sidewalk is clear, although my sidewalk isn't done. One of my neighbors has promised to do it; officially we got 16.4" at the airport, the official register. Some of the main bus lines are running now, although not my feeder line.

I didn't lose power, but the boiler is acting up and the house is very cold; I have a call in to the plumber, and am awaiting a call-back wrapped in layers of clothes with a hot water bottle! At least the sun is helping warm the house! Leia ventured on the porch for about 2 seconds and is back in, snow, bah humbug!

Re: Shivering Sunday chat

Glad to see you're OK DM. Hope your boiler will be shortly.
We've still got poor conditions underfoot, and drove over a couple of cm of packed snow in some areas but it's still actually very dry here.
Had a nice lunch with my mum - won't see her again till after xmas; my sister and her OH (and their dogs) will call in to share xmas afternoon tea with mum, so she won't be on her own.
I think I'm going to have a 'chill with the TV evening, so keep warm wishes to all and I'll see yiu in the morning

Re: Shivering Sunday chat

My walk's been shoveled, and the plumber was here; unfortunately he needs a part so won't be back till tomorrow early; t'will be a cold night in bed with the hot water bottle! The boiler couldn't have picked a worse time to conk out. Ah well, I shall survive.
