What I don't get is, how come Christmas is always on the same date yet Easter moves around? I wonder what date Christ actually died on?

The time of Easter was decided by a papal council aeons ago.

It is linked to Passover, and is the first Sunday after the full moon that occurs on after the vernal equinox, so can move about.

Christmas was just a fixed date linked to the pagan midwinter festival.

Re: Good friday ..

As for Easter... Friday's are different dates every years, apparently if he was curified on a Friday and resurrected three days after, it will always have to be a Sunday ...
It works according to the calendars years ..
In my opinions ...

Isn't Passover a Jewish festival or something?
Why isn't Christmas on the same day every year?
Doesn't make any sense.

Pesach commemorates when the Angel of Death killed the first born. It is not the anniversary. But it has been fixed as the 15th of Nisan which means some date in late March or April because while the Gregorian calendar is fixed the Jewish New year is linked to the cycle of the moon.

Because Easter is linked to Pesach it follows that Easter date varies.

My birthday is on a different day each year. I haven't decided yet which day it will be on this year.

The answer is contained within the question. In the word fragment "mass".

RC's are fond of Saints days and Christmas is the mass day for Christ. It isn't the anniversary of his birth, it is the day that the mass for Christ is held.

Many bible scholars claim that his real birthday was late September to early October.
