Re: Labour climb 26 points to match Tories in opinion polls

Johnson's problem has not been COVID itself but this inability to be at all proactive, merely reacting to whatever turns up, often at the last minute. It suggests a leader hopelessly out of his depth. It might have bene better if his cabinet had been chosen with ability as the main criterion and not being a devout brexiteer or being unlikely to outshine the leader.
I realise there are a lot of unknowns with the path of the pandemic but most of them can be foreseen and alternatives plans made in advance. What we have is a mess that is only surviving because Labour let them get a large majority at the last election.

To be honest, a pandemic has always been likely and I am surprised that no government (past or present) had the foresight to make some sort of plan - just in case.

I doubt that is true.

Our PM, Scotty from Marketing, handled the bushfire crisis so badly that people affected wouldn't even shake his hand however his handling of the Federal response to the Covid crisis has bought little but praise to the point that the opposition Labor Party can't lay a glove on him. That is not to say he didn't make mistakes but overall the government's response was good, likewise the state governments of whatever ilk - with the notable exception of Victoria.

From afar Clown Prince Boris was a one trick pony, once Brexit was sorted he was completely out of his depth leading to the UK response to Covid being the worst in Europe.

Indeed .....

It's not like the "scenario" was hidden in scientific papers and not known - The Andromeda Strain, 12 Monkeys, Outbreak and, particularly, Contagion are some of the poplular films which accurately portrayed the path of a modern "plague" .....

There is a viable alternative now, or there would be if the Corbyn supporters would give up and get behind Starmer.
It seems daft to me.

Hi

I am a Socialist, but not entirely convinced than we could do any better than idiot Boris.

Keir has a split party, still fighting amongst itself.

We need a pragmatic, intelligent Leader like Jocinda Adhern.

We have nobody like that, unfortunately.

There is no alternative, a lifetime of Conservative and Labour governments neither achieving much.

Let's get BREXIT finished with. It HAS to be #1 priority.
