3yr transition for fishing???

The Gaurdian reports that we might be offering EU a 3yr long
transition period to implement the changes needed for us to finally
have a say in running our own property ??
l hope this is just grauniads slant on things as EU have allready
had 4yrs tranition to get used to the idea of losing out on fishing?
They are at present busy cleaning out all the breeding stock in
the north sea before we get access??
I have no objection to a transition period at all, as long as we are
in control of things and it does not just amount to us staying in the
CPA for another three years?? That would be totally insupportable
and would amount to a sell out imo!?!?

I've been reading about this in the Daily Express too. Here's it's take on the story:

Hi
We have apparently agreed a deal with Norway about fishing.

I don't think there's all that much to it really Swimmy. As I see it, all that's happening is Norway is granting us what we already had when we were in the EU.

Hi

Quite happy to do a deal with Norway, we have always been reasonable with each other.

We fish their waters for an agreed amount of the kinds of fish we eat and they fish ours for an agreed amount of fish they eat.

That is sensible.

We agree it annually to both our benefits.

We are not hugely into Roll Mop Herring.

They have cod to spare.

Very different to the EU.

Enough time wasted, just how many years do they need. This is a trick.

The way l read it Cinders, is that we OFFERED them the extension??
I wonder what they will offer in return!?
Maybe they will allow us to continue to contribute ??

What the EU offered? The fishing rights the english sold years ago (and got good money for) can be bought back during those three years. Do you really think that the payments made in good faith by EU fishers can simply be stolen by the UK government?
