Hi

Here you go Longy.

They were there within two hours, at 3 in the morning.

They are remarkable people.

It's frightening seeing that fire fighter up the ladder surrounded by flames.

That's dedication for you .... I salute all these brave men and women who risk their lives to save others.

Crikey ... I hadn't thought of the medication they might be on

THAT will be a complete nightmare to sort out and could very well lead to more deaths.

Just imagine that you're on serious meds for heart, cancer etc and you are vaguely conscious (or not conscious) and there's nothing to identify you.

Re: Fire engulfs Grenfell tower block in west London

Hi

Some interesting developments.

The Company which did the external cladding has withdrawn it's original press statement which said that the cladding used met Building Regs and Fire Safety Recommendations.

The new statement issued now omits the bit about Fire Safety.

It transpires that there are two types of this particular cladding available, one which meets Class A2, which is fire resistant, and one which does not.

Hi

Interesting though it is as a possible explanation of the incredibly rapid spread of the fire on the outside of the Building it does not answer other questions.

The staircase is supposed to be protected by fire doors and screens, giving people an hour to get out in high rise.

This obviously did not work either.

Each flat is supposed to have a self closing fire door to protect the occupants inside until the Fire Brigade arrive, and conversely, to stop a fire in one flat spreading to others.

This morning I heard that a week ago, the appliances (cookers etc) in that block were changed from electricity to gas.

BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty was giving a pretty fierce interview/interrogation of someone to do with fire safety this morning. Think he's a TM advisor??

Yet another nail in the coffin for her methinks!
