In my youth, being stupid and getting sunburnt was virtually a 'Rite of passage' (along with measles, chicken pox, mumps etc). Now it's virtually a crime.
It is one of those things you got to be careful with. A sunburn or two isn't going to kill you, but if it is a regular thing it can certain cause some damage.
