Democracy is only destroyed if people allow it to be by failing to have the courage of their convictions.
I will fight on supporting my beliefs something I have always done throught my life regardless of seemingly hopeless situations.
If there is an election I will support my MP who has done her best to carry through the results of the referendum. I will also tell her why she has my support.
I agree with you on this Meg. Personally I am past caring whether we leave or remain, because it probably won't change my life & I have no offspring to worry about
but.....the appalling way that many, who think they know it all, have tried to get things their way has made me even more determined to vote "leave", if a second vote is needed!
Intelligent people, no matter which way they originally voted, can see the damage that is being done to Britain and how we are viewed by the rest of the world! If we leave, the EU are determined to make life difficult for us & if we stay they will just view us as another country they now have total control of.
Sadly this has been caused by the many MPs who think they know it all, when they know very little about giving us the chance to go it alone.
My MP is a Tory, but I know her personal vote was to leave, so I would feel confident in voting for her in any general election that is created by the Brexit mess.
If MPs votes, in parliament, are the way they can speak for the people who voted for them, perhaps it shouldn't be a secret vote, but one that all the public can see
