So how did, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Dame Elizabeth Taylor, Dame Julie Andrews get one as they live abroad?
Even Sir Tom Jones who lives in America got a knighthood!

Yes, but Clark lives in France, the auld enemy and is married to a Frenchman to boot, both legitimate reasons for not getting a dame-hood IMO
