A peck is an imperial or United States customary unit of dry volume equivalent to 2 dry gallons OR 16 dry pints ( 9.09 UK) or (8.81 US litres)
Two pecks make an kenning (obsolete) and four pecks make a BUSHEL!

or 2 gallons, (which, of course, is a quarter of a bushell or 1/32 of a quarter. It's nearly as complicated as firkens and kilderkins for beer!
