I wouldn't say these five are leading members of the Jewish communities at all .
At least two are retired academics one a lecturers at LSE and all are extremely anti Israel pro Palestinian as is Corbyn typical champagne socialists .

This is the kernel of the question. Too many people use the terms Zionist and Jew as interchangeable. They are not!!
This is how Israel has got away with years of appalling behaviour in Palestine - criticise Israel and you are criticising Jews - utter nonsense. At college I had Israeli Jewish friends who were 100% opposed to the actions of their Zionist government and criticised it constantly. Were those Jewish people anti-semitic?
Criticising the zionist government of Israel is no more anti-semitic than criticising ISIS is islamophobic. Zionists should be judged by their behaviour, not by their religious affiliation.

BTW - I'm not fond of Livingstone, primarily because of the corruption and cronyism displayed during his London Mayoralties.

The thing is that the critics of Israel is completely one sided .
Their government does things that we don't like but they are living witb constant terrorism from an enemy that has absolutely no intention of seeking peace .The Palestinians. are merely pawns to be used by their leaders in order to create international bad feeling towards Israel
Israel are in a no win situation the good they do is rarely mentioned and they are held to a different higher standard that anyone else in the world
-and I notice all these pro Palestinians Jews all live in the safety of the UK.

For what I've heard he does talk a lot more sense and, whilst not thinking in any sexual sort of way, I think he's marginally more attractive.

Actually I quite like him, I don't agree with much of what he says but I like his eccentricity. I also think the press love to misquote him or misinterpret what he says on purpose to create a story. Actually that's what he says has happened here with this latest story.. if it is its only because he sets himself up for it

It wasn't anti-semitic but it was controversial and politically-incorrect. It it not politically acceptable to say that Jews were collaborating with Nazis in any way. In fact it's not even politically correct to mention Germans in the same sentence as Nazis. Nazi is becoming the new "N" word.

Having said that, I have never heard that Zionists were doing deals with Nazis before WWII. Not to say it's not true, just not in the books I've read. The phrase he used was deliberately provoking (that's his style) and designed to create the most controversy and media publicity (for him). He's an attention seeker and I'm sure he is loving the limelight.

Ah but they did precisely that, not only, as Ken Livingstone said before the beginning of WW2, but during it, the leaders of the Jewish community in, amongst other places, Budapest co-operated with the Nazis to choose those who were to be 're-settled' in Auswitz.
