Hi

One thing that we must make perfectly clear.

Corbyn is absolutely adamant that he will not sanction any action without the prior agreement of the UN.

Secondly, he has made it perfectly clear that he will not sanction any lethal action whatsoever on any UK Citizen abroad, he is insistent that they brought back to face trial here in the UK.

So, if have imagery of a UK Citizen carving the head off a captive or raping a 9 year old, he would rather we allowed them to do it again than kill them to prevent such atrocities happening.

That is such a sad day for Society and humanity at large.

Along with the Tallboy bomb at 12000lb and Grandslam bomb at 22000lb he also designed the Lancaster, the only plane at the time that was capable of carrying these bombs.

Fortunately, very few people take any notice of Corbyn.

As I said, he's a joke.

And the Wellington.

He was a busy chap, wasn't he?

Also, it should be remembered that the much vaunted MOAB actually weighs a little less, at 20,000lb, than the Grand Slam!

Re: Huge Bomb.....

My apologies to the late Roy Chadwick - it was he who designed the Lancaster for Avro not Barnes Wallace.

All these have been happening with the Tory government in power.

An interesting piece of information......
The mighty Avro Vulcan.......Payload of 23,000 Lbs
The Lancaster Bomber.......Payload of 42,000 Lbs
You would have thought that the Vulcan with its four Olympus engines [same as Concorde] would carry twice as much as the Lancaster with its four Merlin Propeller Engines [Same as the Spitfire]....

Re: Huge Bomb.....

I suppose there was less need for massive payloads as bombing became more accurate and bombs more devastating....plus the Vulcan depended on height and speed.

Yes. I don't know all the whys and wherefores, but I do know that the Vulcan (like the other V-bombers) was designed primarily to carry nuclear weapons. The usual was a single Blue Steel stand-off bomb (rocket-powered bomb).

On the same grounds, the 'bomb bay' was probably not as capacious as that of the Lancaster.

I suppose that another factor was speed. The Vulcan was designed to fly much faster than the Lancaster, so it is possible that payload may have been sacrificed for speed.
