Totally agree about the ridiculing of the men. It really annoys me that they are all depicted as useless and weak and so on, whereas the women are strong, feisty and more intelligent. I suspect the show's writers are "feminists" who secretly despite the male sex and laud the popularity of homosexuals in the media. Same as many adverts - stupid inept men, smug females.

Or how about Brian Tilsley? There was even knife crime in the big cities in those days....His son Nick turned out to be a big disappointment though....

I don't watch Emmerdale, but I'm willing to bet that the men on there are all wonderful, tough he-men, not like the limp wristed men on Coronation Street.

Is Emmerdale quite as 'gender fluid' as Coronation Street? As you know, there are more homos there than normal people.
