Having read more details about this man it strikes me that he needs psychiatric help.

I believe that the sentence was excessive and was mostly about revenge for embarrassing the establishment figures than anything else.

I doubt it. He's not evil, he's sick. Granted he should not be walking the streets but I really don't think he should be in prison.

Can't help thinking the judge was guided by emotional investment in the sentencing. You consider all these terrible crimes that make hardly any time and this seems very disproportionate.

Not to mention the massive costs of the operation both financial and `man` hours put into it.

I don't agree.
This man didn't just embarrass "establishment figures ' he ruined the lives of elderly people who had done him NO HARM .
He didn't even know them .
As everyone knows prisoners only do half the sentence anyway so the sentence is not excessive .
