Re: Boris and his Bloodbath

It is a bit of a surprise that the changes have been so drastic Swimmy .
Still, he can't afford cabinet members who resign at the drop of a hat which was one of the problems May had. There has to be %100 cabinet unity and support with no leaks.

The 'sacked' Brexiteers are I think those who supported Hunt or won't accept no deal.
Penny Mordant is a bit of a shock but I think she backed Hunt.

The other thing we don't know of course is if some are going because they have refused a new position.

Re: Boris and his Bloodbath

It's certainly a cull! Penny Mordant's meeting with Boris was apparently very short as she was sacked. It was only a few minutes before she emerged from his office. Price for backing Hunt I'm afraid. Must admit, still rather surprised at her sacking though as she was so pro-Brexit and fought against Maybot at every opportunity.

Still, at least it clears the Remain flotsom from the cabinet that has spent the last 3 years railing against Brexit.
Only those who back Boris 100% will be sitting at the table in Number 10. Great news, Now let's get on with getting us out.

When something seems to good to be true, the buck stops with him, in the end he will pass the buck to the electorate.

Hi

It is a double edged sword SG.

They are on the back benches with nothing to lose now.

Free to openly criticise and cause mischief.

Re: Boris and his Bloodbath

I wouldn't have chosen Boris for PM, but perhaps he is just what we need. A new younger minded cabinet, who support Brexit, may be the answer and they may also have more influence over young voters, if we are forced to go to a 2nd referendum.

Everybody needs to know if we are in, or out, of the EU ....and too many "know it all" older MPs will just delay this even further. The biggest disaster will be, if the people of this country cannot unite and show that democracy means something to them!

Twink under 'normal circumstances BJ would not have been my choice for PM but sometimes a good shake up can work wonders.

Some people keep going on about no deal being damaging while ignoring the fact that the UK has been slowly suffering dreadful damage caused by uncertainty for the last 3 years . We can't go on with this 'slow death' drastic action is called for.

We will see in time if BJ is doing the right thing but a drastic rethink can't be worse than a slow death.

Just listening to Stanley Johnson on the TV, very enlightening, he worked in the EU for many years and it sounds as though there is to be a whole new approach with the 'chief negotiator' (the EUs choice not ours) being side stepped in favor of a direct approach to other EU states.

Good post Twink, when we have some detail to all the promises then that will happen.

Agree Swimmy, but they are at least no longer in a position of power to cause mayham. Now they will join the rest of the Remain rabble Tories on the backbenches to cause mischief.
