Poppies all colours

The British Legion poppy appeal hopes to raise 50 million for ex servicemen this year.

I hope they do .

I agree. Even though my poppy is a brooch and will lat for ever - I still put money in the collection boxes.

Purple poppies are papaver somniferum. I wonder if those who chose that color realised that!

That's right Tiff.
Today I bought a red one, along with a purple one for the animals too.

All the horses used and killed, and the service dogs.
They didn't volunteer, just got dragged off to war knowing nothing.

Yes, I realise that Spitty, but at least all the brave men and women knew why they were going, but maybe that would have been worse.

I always buy poppies for the humans, but like to remember the animals also.
