There are some serious misunderstandings in this thread.AT is correct; there is a multi-step process to launch a nuclear weapon. At any time, the 25th Amendment could be envoked.
In admitting that she investigated the procedures involved in a nuclear launch, the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi is either grandstanding or too ignorant to be in office.
On a side note, the President could never pardon himself. A pardon only applies to someone who has been convicted of a federal crime. If the President was guilty of a federal crime while in office, this would either be an admission of guilt - paving the way for impeachment and removal from office - or he would have already been impeached and removed.
