Re: Valentines Day!

Hi

Valentines day is not for me.

Boring, overpriced stuff and a meal out is a fortune.

If I am with a lady it is flowers every week, random presents and days out.

The object of the exercise is to show them how much you love and appreciate, not confined to certain days.

I buy my ladies flowers and pressies every week, even when I am fuming mad with them.

Being a man it is never my fault if we fall out.

Yes, Yes, and Yes!

I once received a large plush Tiger, holding a velvet heart on which was embroidered "Wild about you". It was delivered to my office at the hospital - never did find out from whom it came - but I still have it!

Re: Valentines Day!

Is there anything better than the Valentines cards shared between grandparents and grandchildren, and the other way around?

I have told this story before, but my favorite Valentine card ever was from one of my first graders who begged his mom to let him buy a card for me. (What a good sport she was!) He was beaming when he gave it to me - the cover flashing with red foiled roses, borders of gold scrolls, and the most profound romantic prose any card writer has ever written. It was a masterpiece of glorious gaudiness to behold!

Even better, when I opened it, it played "Strangers in the Night."

I still have it. No better Valentines card was ever given or received!

Hi

No chance of that with pretendie Nadi.

She is a preteen who does not like boys.

The only males she hugs are daddy and Uncle/

I used to get a hug, as did her real Grandads but no more.

She is growing up fast.

Re: Valentines Day!

We still give each other a card and I still buy Mrs LD a bouquet of flowers. I think it is important to keep the romance going where possible.

Gone are the days when I would be buying several cards and flowers.
