I did really mean Pollock too.
In Iceland, I often buy bags of what they label as 'White Fish'.
I looked on the labelling first time, to see what sort of fish it really was, and it is Pollock.

My dogs love it as a change sometimes.

There is a problem selling pollack in supermarkets because it sounds similar to "bollock". One suggestion was to go full on European and give it the name that the French give it......

Needless to say, asking for a 250g of Colin didn't catch on either (excuse the pun).


The other campaign was by the greens to help rescue our cod stocks by renaming a codling (a cod under 6lb in weight) to a "sea kitten" to try and make fishermen think sympathetic to the small furry sea creature.

That didn't work either. Turns out people have a brain
