Morning Plops I agree too. Even worse when they are both long AND boring as well. Can't see the point of using 500 words if you can say it in 50.
As Realspeed said though, the poster and the reader probably view it quite differently.

Yes Mupsy, of course they do. I just can't see the point in waffling on about something.
Someone used to have a go at me for posting one liners.
Guilty, your honor.

Re: Long posts in threads

I hate posts that have long poncy words in every sentence that went extinct with the Dodo bird.
Plus I can't be doing with people who put on thirty posts of tripe a day as they like the sound of their own voice.

Re: Long posts in threads

It's not the length of a post but the content that matters surely, you can have boring short posts and interesting long posts and vice-versa .

What I do dislike is someone cutting and pasting pages and pages of almost the same content which is verging on spamming.

Yep, that's it. Some people are so convinced that their long posts will make others exited about what they have to say.
Noooooooooo, not really.

Re: Long posts in threads

I didn't realise there was a limit on how many posts a day a person should make, I tend to see much of this forum as chatting and in real life I like a chat

I don't know of any restrictions as to how many posts you can enter a day.

Re: Long posts in threads

I'll read an initial long post, maybe even a second one from the same poster. After that, I tend to skip because it does only tend to be the same message being put a little differently every time.
