Best and worst places

A survey carried out for the Legatum Institute's ‘Geography of Prosperity’ measured income and overall happiness.
I'm very dubious about these sorts of surveys in the popular press, but I was pleased to see that Aberdeen city & shire came in at No. 9 in a list of 170.

Not surprizingly 4 London boroughs topped the list with
Outer Hebrides (Eilean Sar) at no.5 and The Shetland isles at no.10.

The index shows that while robust economic success can make an area prosperous; this in itself is not enough. Some of the most prosperous areas of the country are those where, regardless of their income, people have the opportunity to lead healthy, fulfilling and prosperous lives.

Poor old Wolverhampton didn't do very well; I don't live there but it's a lovely friendly place.

I pay no attention to this type of survey, I think it's up to the individual no matter where they live to be happy and earn enough for a decent living.
