Calling all Stephen King fans!!

10pm Channel Five Monday, new series, Under the Dome.

Fantastic book, looks like excellent series.

Haven't read the book so looking forward to this, usually when I have read a book I am disappointed.

I have read the book but King's stuff sometimes transfers well to the screen as he usually has a heavy input in what the directors can and can't do with his stuff. I loved the book and if special effects get it right, this could be a marvel to watch!

I'm looking forward to it

I also wish they film The Dark Tower Series - I loved that as well (well, didn't enjoy the last one but the first few were very good).

Love Stephen King and you're right Karen, he does have a big input in the filming, normally.

I have to agree that this would be wonderful t.v. BUT also have to say that it would be well nigh impossible. The cast list would be enormous, the effects phenomenal (think of Blain and the Wastelands for instance).

I remember vividly the final sentence of the series, and sitting there, jaw on the ground thinking 'What the %$&*£?' but on reflection it actually made sense.

I loved the Dark Tower series, but it would need at least four full-length movies to do it justice. I'm looking forward to The Dome though but I hear they have made a lot of changes to the story to make it more TV friendly.

Not too many changes I hope Mick.
I agree about the Dark Tower series .. sometimes when a book is made into film, the actors portrayed don't match up to 'my' characters in my head
