May I just ask

If I posted something on here which referenced something about to happen in a soap, but which I read in one of the tv listings magazine published up to seven days ago, would the rest of you consider it to be a spoiler?

No, if it's about Emmerdale I probably already know, if it's about the rest I don't care! If it makes you feel good, do it!

There are separate threads for Corrie, Eastenders and Emmerdale soaps that you can use for spoilers ..... I'm not sure about other soaps.

If there is not already a spoiler thread created, you can create a new one but please make sure it says Spoiler in the thread title.

I get the tv mags in advance and usually know what is about to happen, but many viewers prefer to be surprised on the night.

I keeps me lips zipped, I does!! (Sometimes! )

Yes either put it in the spoiler threads already here or start another with spoiler in the title. Just the soaps name and spoiler is best that way we don't get any clue from the title.

Sadly I am one of the ones who hate the story spoiled, I find when I know what's coming I lose interest.

I don't watch the soaps but I don't like spoilers for films either.
I don't go to the movies anymore due to knowing what's going to happen and apart from the stereo sound that makes my head go dizzy.
I think spoilers are like someone reading the last chapter of a book
before they start reading the cover.

I only really watch Emmerdale so if I don't want to know what is about to happen I don't read the spoiler page.

I usually ready though what is about to happen about a week in advance through sky.

Was still surprised though when someone came back into the programme that I knew nothing about so was really shocked and glad that they did not put that in the synopsis about the programme.

Maybe you'd get away with it on here Des, but not with my missus, if I read something in the paper about her favourite soap and said "Hey Phyllis, do you know who gets knocked down by a bus in next weeks episode of Fair City (her favourite soap)" I'd get a belt of whatever was nearest to her hand.

Spoilers, to me, are like being told the ending of The Mousetrap - it would ruin the whole point of watching it.
