Oh, I was just curious about the relation between the UKSpace Agency (https://www.gov.uk/government/organi...k-space-agency) and the ESA business incubation centres (https://stfc.ukri.org/innovation/our...ion-centre-uk/).

Because I read an interesting article here: https://stfc.ukri.org/news/stfc-welc...for-start-ups/

I was just wondering about the use of two space agencies working alongside each other in the UK. Why not combine forces, pull together or is that an alien phenomenon in the UK?

Yes, this is along the lines of cummings buying the wrong kind of satelites for your satnav project.

But your link makes me think of how genius the brits are. The americans participating in rocket launches from UK soil?
I hope you have some small island in the pacific you can use for that? Why do you think the americans and russians launch their rockets from a piece of desert? Esa launches from french guyana. Or is boris planning to use a nice flat piece of kent for launchings?

Hi

The ESA is not an EU Organisation, it is nothing to do at all with the EU or Brexit.

It is not affected by Data Transfer or any form of Tariffs.

Leicester University is a Centre of Excellence for Satellite Engineering.

Brexit will not change that.

Cambridge is a Centre of Excellence for Chip Design, Oxford for Biomedics and Coventry for Automotive.

None of these will be in any shape or form be affected by Brexit.

Neither will be sub molecular Physics.

Brian Cox is not going to sod off to the EU.

But it does prove the importance of being a member of an international organisation. Because altough you are a net payer (£ 374/year) it renders a 100 mln investment in your own country.
A bit like being a member of the EU, who by the way foots 23% of esa's annual budget..
You will be interested to know esa started as a german-french initiative.

Brian cox on twitter:

Brexit is a self-indulgence from another age. It should be shelved for an indefinite period until we have dealt with the long-term economic and social fall out of COVID-19. There can be no justification for imposing a second, voluntary shock on the country in early 2021.
