They can talk (or beg) all they want.
Boris, Gove and others have said repeatedly that if the EU don't offer a reasonable deal by 31st December there will be no further such talks.

I fully expect no deal, followed by the EU asking to talk within the first weeks of the New Year once the suffering EU companies start becoming increasingly vocal.

They're just procrastinating for the sake of it! Never in a zillion years were they going to give us a deal............and the rest of Europe looks on and wonders how the hell are they going to get out!!

Re: New EU " OFFER"??

There are a lot of member states scratching their heads wondering why Barnier hasn't delivered on his promises yet.

I think tomorrow is the last chance for a deal, after that it's too late for anything unless the EU and UK agree on a stand-still arrangement in the New Year while the ratification by the member states is completed. The EU Commission are humiliated by the UK performance over the vaccine approvals and they now know that we will out perform them as soon as the negotiations end, which according to the Government is 31st December 2020 or Christmas Eve, depending on progress.

The stupid stunt by Macron on the Calais crossing means that now it will be the highest risk route for the UK to do business, so expect the Netherlands to start being vocal and kissing our ar$e in order to move trade away from Calais and over to Rotterdam. It's also the highest risk route for countries passing through the EU, such as Morocco so this has much broader implications than just the UK.

I assume you mean how do we get out Lindy?
We don't have to do anything?
From now on it should be automatic according to Barmies rules??

This traffic congestion shows up the weaknesses of relying on
Just one port for most of our supplies !
Although this crisis was not caused by Brexit directly it shows what
an enemy could accomplish without firing a shot if they so desired?
All the more reason to disentangle ourselves from the present

Re: New EU " OFFER"??

If it comes to no deal,(l hope so!) then we should refuse to talk further for at least six months, then if EU requests talks publicly,(no secret
tunnel negotiations !) Maybe we listen to them ?
MHO is we have nothing more to do with them !!

Re: New EU " OFFER"??

Let's face it - Boris only put up as a Brexit Candidate as he was in touch with the mood of the country and it was his opportunity to climb to the top1 The fact he based his strategy on lies, lost him my vote, and to this day I consider him a self-serving liar! We should never have considered leaving without buttering our bread as far as we could, and having put together a no-deal policy from the outset. If we'd shown confidence in leaving without a deal, we'd be far more likely to get one!

BUT...........why are we leaving? Because the Euro MP's we had did absolutely sweet fanny-adams and appeared to loll around and live it up on Euro MP expenses and allowances!! If they'd got off their flipping arses and done a few decent day's work, we may well have made a success of being a game-player in Europe, instead of allowing the UK to become the put-down whipping boy!!

It's a deliberate stunt by Macron and nothing to do with coronavirus.

I agree we should use much more reliable ports than Dover- Calais or even better grow our own stuff and buy from outside the EU.
