Before anyone asks, Yes, I most certainly do wear a mask in there.

Just had a thought after I posted the above - I wonder if shopkeepers can get into legal trouble too, for not wearing any masks, or providing hand sanitizer?

My local post office has protective screens, but doesn't supply any hand sanitizers. When I queried it, they said 'They keep getting nicked so we don't put any out anymore'

Yes, I can well believe it.
I suppose it's marginally less evil than stealing charity money collections.

There are so many criminals around these days. I wonder why!

At the same time, people such as some have mentioned on here, not wearing masks in supermarkets or other indoor areas - where, of course, the transmission of Covid is far more likely than outdoors - are not even being approached.

I know that the police can't be everywhere at once, but surely if I am aware of the things I have mentioned, surely the police should be aware as well.

They are just targeting the wrong people.
Some even accuse them of going after 'easy targets'!
The two ladies argument gets used a lot when people want to disparage the police. In my opinion the police were right and everyone that defends the women are wrong. Why? well, at the time of their arrest, they were sitting on a bench social distance apart drinking a hot beverage. On visual observations, this is not exercise or part of exercise, it is using exercise as an excuse to socialise, to meet up with a friend and have a chat. Were the ladies out of breath? NO, where the ladies sweating, even just a little bit to show they had done some exercise, NO.

What got the police in hot water was the excessive amount of police officer that was involved and the absurdity excuse of 'hot beverage means they are having a picnic, hence flouting the rules'. Splash all that across the media and there is no way the police would be able to defend themselves even if the women were wrong in what they were doing and that is EXACTLY what happened. The power of the media got the police to apologise and rescind the fines.

Now I know with what I am about to say next there are going to some of you who will say 'but i do that' or 'i know people that do that' BUT in all my years of exercising, I have NEVER EVER taken a hot beverage with me. Neither do I know of anyone that has. Now when it comes to socialising, meeting up with family and friends, yes I have taken a hot beverage with me but that's when i', intending to SOCIALISE!!.

The same 'flexing' is being used against the use of the word 'local'. People do know what 'local' means, they've used it for decades but because it's now being using in the lockdown rules, suddenly the majority of the public is incapable of understanding what 'local' means and they need it spoon fed to them in miles, utter rubbish!!!.

Now people are trying it on with masks because they know they will not get properly challenged due to Equality rights and discrimination rights because a person is not legally bound to inform another person of their medical history. Therefore a fit and healthy person can just say 'medical exempt' and there is nothing shop owners, security guards or anyone else can do about it because if they try, the first thing they will do is go to the media to try and shame those involved into backing down.

If the government won't deal with illegal immigrants properly because they are afraid of bad PR then there is no way they are going to be able to deal with lockdown rule breakers.

They could make it obligatory to show a medical note to that effect. It should be quite easy for a genuine claimant to ask their GP for such a note.

I hear that suggestion a lot BUT it will never happen because health charities will come to the defence of these people saying that they should not be forced to carry a document which allows them access to shop because to do so is singling them out that they are different and as such it breaches equality and discrimination laws.

The thing is, the above does happen. A reporter for some media outlet will write a report on mask wearing and to make sure the report is unbiased they will get both sides of the argument and the side that defends medical exempt ALWAYS quote equality and discrimination laws as to why people should not have to carry a medical exempt document.

Re: Obeying the Rules.

Once again the media is showing pictures of hundreds of people in public spaces, not distancing. Anyone who owns a camera and a zoom lens will know that this effect can be achieved very easily. I'm sure that if we saw them from above, they would be in their household groups and keeping at least 2 metres apart. The situation is bad enough as it is without the media embellishing everything.

Just another thought, Boris travelling around visiting schools and hospitals, is he not breaking the rules? I'm sure these visits are not essential, plus they could probably do without him there.

They would be classed as 'work related' which technically they are and thus not breaking the law.
