Do you wash?

Your shopping!

I have been ticked off by a friend because I put my shopping straight away when I've been to the supermarket.

Friend washes all his shopping with hot soapy water & clean towel before putting it away - even frozen food.

I wondered if anybody else washed their shopping & ought I to start?

Re: Do you wash?

Its probably easier to make sure you wash your hands, before food preparation or touching your face.

Re: Do you wash?

A neighbour, who says he obeys all the rules, has just gone down with it!

That does suggest that there is a way the virus can get you anyway.

I did wonder about the deliveries, the fruit & veg packers, etc.,

I think washing some stuff make all kinds of sense.

Re: Do you wash?

No l don’t!
I do make sure l wash my hands regularly. Which l have always done anyway, even before the virus.
I do always wash fruit too.

I have also started to keep my reading glasses on when out and in the supermarket to help stop getting the virus in my eyes. I can’t exactly cover them with the mask!

Re: Do you wash?

I have a delivery from Sainsburys every week and my first job is always to sanitise everything, including frozen goods, with a spray and wipes, wearing gloves, before I put it away. Throw the gloves away after and wash my hands.

You never know how many people have touched, coughed or sneezed while handling your goods in the store or warehouse.

Re: Do you wash?

We don't go to supermarkets but home deliveries are sprayed or wiped with Dettol before being brought indoors. Frozen foods aren't sprayed or wiped. We have a freezer in the garage. They get put into that and spend a good few days in there before being used. Spray hands during the process and wash them when done.

Might still get the virus but I don't think we can be more careful than we are.
