I feel sorry for the younger generation because they seem to have imposed on themselves such cold and formulaic method for self-arranged marriages, but it seems to work for them.

My niece is engaged to a terrific young man whom she met via a matching site.

I suppose I am just too much of a romantic to want to tell my grandchildren, "After swiping left three-hundred times and approving of your grandpa's bio and photo, I swiped right...:" lol:

Thanks Minx, that's the mystery solved. It had to be one of them but I wasn't sure which.

Those words, I believe, are quite true as people are so very different to how they used to be. Probably due to life also being so very different to how it was in my younger days.

Pauline, You say in your opening post that you wouldn’t like to date a stranger?
Isn’t everyone a stranger to you before you meet them?
People see a stranger across a room, say in a pub, and chat to them. So what’s the difference?

People you meet in real life, could also be murderers and scammers.
