Re: "21"

Oh no, that's not a very pleasant start to adult life. I hope you came through it reasonably well.

Re: "21"

I was happily married to my first wife and had just finished my first term at university. Great days when everything seemed possible!

At 21 I was managing a kennel of show dogs for a wealthy owner .

When I was 21 I was working my back-side off to make a good life for my wife and I, and I hope I managed to achieve that.

Re: "21"

I was 21 in 1972 too and that's when I made my first major mistake with a woman.

Took me 'til 1982 to finally get out of that marriage but years more before I really recovered from it.

Now that person's virtually a bag lady but it's very hard sometimes because my daughter still worries about her Mum, despite all the unbelievable things that woman did, to me AND to her. stevmk2

Re: "21"

The bond we feel as a child to our parents, is sometimes never broken.
With your daughter, I guess she hasn't reached that stage because of unfinished business, no closure I guess.
I did find closure - the bond 'was' broken ......I came out of 'denial'

Re: "21"

Getting married to my lovely hubby, very glad I did that.

Getting my first dog and learning all about mortgages going up to 17% meaning we were waiting to have our home repossessed.

You have to have the bad bits to appreciate the good I always think and it certainly made us stronger as we negotiated our way through life.
