Like a religion.

If you don't here in the humidity capital of the universe, you will come down for breakfast to discover that an entirely new species has formed in your kitchen overnight.

Re: Lids On

I had a friend who worked in a bakery, she told me when the big sacks of flour came in they had to sieve it to remove the weevils. They are harmless of course and a source of protein but the thought of eating them is not pleasant.

Any 'dry goods' can attract pests. A couple of years ago I bought some organic bread flour and opening it a flour moth flew out. I contacted the producer and they sent me 6 bags of flour to compensate.

I have a store cupboard with unopened dry goods, anything open is stored in airtight containers.

We always ensure lids are replaced correctly.

Re: Lids On

I had a funny lid incident the other day. I bought some air freshener pearls.. they are 100s of little jelly pearls in a container with perfumed oil. The instructions said remove the cap peel back the foil cover replace the cap and place on a protected surface... sounds simple enough except the cap snaps on and a I thought it screwed on..... result... about 1000 oily perfumed pearls all over the lounge floor.

It still stinks in the lounge even though I think I managed to collect them all

Re: Lids On

I always put lids back on. But I once remember a bag of flour had some of them nasty weevil things in it, I was horrified. They need to make flour in different containers with lids on!
