How lovely Twink, little things like that can mean so much.

I can't equal that but I almost always let a lady or gent go before me in the check-out queue if they have less in their basket or trolley than me. I always get a lovely thank you after they have packed their bags and are leaving.

Re: Random acts of kindness!

A couple of days ago Holly and I were in the playing field opposite and I saw what looked like somebody lying on the floor, with a man standing over here. I went over to enquire and discovered a lady who had slipped on the muddy grass and the man said she was too heavy for him to lift on his own. I suggested we offer an arm each (I have a small bruise inside my elbow to show for it!), and we managed to get her up. As she was walking with a cane, we both walked her home, with the man carrying her shopping.

She was incredibly grateful, and said her thanks so many times. I was just glad to be there at that time, to help.

She admitted she shouldn’t have been on the field anyway, as she’d been on her way back from Aldi, and she needn’t have strayed from the pavement.

Re: Random acts of kindness!

Talking about kindness, I have just this second had one of my neighbours come to me with a present.

We collect Antique Piss Pots (Jerry's) and there she was standing there with an Antique Jerry and said I know you collect Jerry's Susan and I bought this one many years ago but my Husband doesn't like it, so I would like to give it to you.

I was so happy, I only need one more now for my collection on the Beams.

What a lovely thing to do.
What a lovely thing to receive.
Good for both of you.

May I contribute? Maybe not so random.
My lovely wife bakes cakes and shares them with neighbours.
And we walk little Ozzie because his owner can't.

Just what good neighbours do.

Great you were there to help Jazzi A fall can really make people feel sick and shaken when they are elderly and the cold weather can have consequences.

Re: Random acts of kindness!

How lovely Twink, and everyone. Doesn't it just make your day.

I love doing Cross Stitch and bought this kit a couple of weeks ago. The technicolour pattern is spread over two sheets of A4 and, because I currently have bad cataracts, I found it difficult to follow. I took it into town to a place that does blueprints and architectural plans, explained the problem and asked if they could enlarge the patterns for me.

They told me there was a minimum charge of £10 plus VAT. I agreed and asked them to go ahead. A few minutes later the young man came back and showed me two A3 copies - having checked they were clear enough and I could work with them - he then said they were "on the house" as he would feel mean charging me for them!

Wasn't that kind?

That was very kind of the young man ST, a pity there aren't more around like him.
