Re: shower

There came a time when my arthritic hips wouldn't let me get in or out of the bath that's when we replaced the bath with the walkin shower so now I can shower every day as much as I like safely and without my joints screaming at me. It's also the warmest room in the house

Hermione that's the unfortunate thing about baths. My mum loved her bath, but it was a struggle to get in and out of. Its a walk in shower for her too. It'll be the way for most of us eventully!

I'd love a power shower instead of the wee pauncy one I have. It'll be staying though, as I can't afford such a thing.
Especially if they are those divinely scented one"s from "LUSH"

My 'eventually' came sooner than I thought it would alice, I had a hip replacement age 57 and that was when hubby insisted we take the bath out, he couldn't bear to watch me trying to climb into the bath with my recently operated hip, he was terrified I would fall and break something..

That was young Hermione. Apparently its because of hard pavements these days. Wear and tear of joints and its the price we are now paying

Re: shower

It was young Alice, nothing to do with pavements all to do with the job I did for 20yrs that wore out my joints and happily I had a very sympathetic surgeon , its ongoing I'm afraid my other hip and knees and various other joints are all affected but you wouldn't know it to look at me.. I don't let it stop me doing 'stuff' or give in to it although I know it has slowed me down.. I have medication that helps .

Re: shower

I havent had a bath in 25years

I love my shower but when my dog had a back injury we bought a whirlpool bath and gave him hydrotherapy 3 or 4 times a week.. It helped him regain muscle strength.. The funny thing was we got it from a man who was ripping out his bathroom and putting in a shower because his wife had suffered a back injury and could no longer get in the bath!

Thankyou Alice,
I think my dogs deserve anything I can give them they mean the world to me..

This is the dog concerned and there is a picture of him in the bath among this slide show.. As he got better he just loved to be in the bath trying to bite the bubbles!
