Re: Vitamin D

Im not sure I understand just why anyone should need to take vitamin D supplements, we DO have sunshine here so why the need for supplements ?
In what way does extra vitamin D supplements make you feel bettter than you do already?
I beleive any normal healthy person should be able to obtain all their vitamin requirements naturally through food and the environment (eg sunshine)

Re: Vitamin D

I take a multivitamin with iron, a vitamin B complex tab and 2 calcium tabs with vitamin D (morning / evening) a day. A lack of calcium from following a poor and very restricted diet caused a problem with my hip which was cured instantly by the calcium intake. All these are mainly to keep me strong for sport but a lack of any of them would cause problems for anyone.

Re: Vitamin D

I take Vit D every other day now, down from every day, I have mal absorption problems so nothing seems to get through as it should. Have the result of a bone scan later this week - will be interesting to see how my bones a faring... lol.

MKJ, a friend of mine has been taking calcium tablets for years and is having problems now due to too much calcium in her body - not a criticism at all but something to bear in mind. She has been put on Vit D instead.

Re: Vitamin D

I was in pain every day, muscle pains in my legs and I have been like that for months, until I went to the Doctors and had a blood test, when he noticed my Vit. D levels were miles to low, now that I am taking them, I only get pain once a week or even less.
