@Rachel - I know what your saying, and yes they probably would be fine for another month, but better be safe than sorry..

Yep ... another few weeks should be fine I guess

Interesting that the capsules 'do it' for your OH ... great that such a small dose works for him

Of late, I've wondered if there's any point taking any suppliments (cynical person that I am).
It often sounds like a bit of a racket ...

I'm curious though .. so it's a good opportunity to ask.
Just now, coincidentally, I'm wondering whether to start taking some kind of supplement for joint care.

Do they really help ?
And what does everyone recommend from their own experience?
They definitely help if you are not getting everything you need in your diet.
Maybe keep a food diary for a couple of weeks and my best advice to you is to go to a health food shop and somebody will be able to listen to your concerns and recommend some options, but then go to the supermarket and buy the own label brand because it's cheaper option of the same thing. Alternatively you could take a trip to a specialist who will advise you on the best remedies for you.
Currently vitamin d and calcium are recommended for females to help fight the osteoporosis battle.
Of course in an ideal world you could just eat lots of different coloured vegetables and fruit, lots of fish oily and fresh if possible and then have a few nuts and pulses as a balanced diet should meet your needs.
I know blah, blah, blah lol

Re: Seven Seas JointCare

Thanks for all your help ladies ....

I'm beginning to realise this is a little more complex than I thought.

I think? glucosamine is good for tendons, ligaments and cartilage .. what I call the stretchy bits.
And the oils are good for the joints and bones .. the Meccano scaffolding and lifting lever bits.

I'm not sure yet what the difference is between Omega 3 and Cod Liver Oil .. except price.

Re: Seven Seas JointCare

Hi

Fish oils oxidise when exposed to air, if they are in capsules they should be fine.

Strangely enough, there is not a lot of scientific evidence that they work however they work for me.

Pleased to hear it, hard to keep cod liver oil in a cool place especially during the summer, so not worth chancing it

Gabi, do you mind if I ask you why you were put on Clopidogrel, did you have stroke?

The reason I ask, is because 3 or 4 years ago I was also put on this drug. As far as I remember, I only took the first lot, then when I went to the pharmacy for the next repeat, they queried it, (so did another doctor). I was asked if I'd ever had a stroke or heart attack and when I said No, they seemed surprised I had been given them and said they were normally prescribed for heart attacks/strokes.

I had changed doctors, and the old doctor has prescribed them, but the new docs disagreed. How the hell is a layman supposed to know who to believe or trust?

I had been having trouble with leg pain, that is why they were originally prescribed, but later, when the hospital did some tests, the blood was flowing fine through my legs, and even they were surprised I had been given them.

Sometimes I makes you wonder if it is quicker and cheaper to write out prescriptions than check it all out first.
