I once had a parcel delivered by another stupid courier, and when he realised I wasn't in, he tossed it over my 7ft side gate, I couldn't believe it, and I didn't find it until the next day as well. I can't remember who the courier was now but I know I phoned them and complained and told them was a stupid, irresponsible thing to do because it he had no idea what was the other side of that gate, my dogs could have ate it, or it could have been something breakable, or laid there in the rain for days before I saw it even. I was really cross.
The other consistently bad couriers I had in the past were "Yodel". It was always printed clearly on the label that if I was out please leave parcel in the porch, but they never once did. I frequently got home to find 15kg bags of dog food left out in the rain, despite me complaining to them. My friend in Scotland had no end of trouble with the same firm too.
