Re: Folding Card?
Investigated and experimented.
I am afraid the scoring board is not for me, They start at $17 but most are around $30 (they're imported from the US and UK) and as I have no other use for it than this it not really practical (though making one is not out of the question).
BTW the A4 card I am using is 200gsm from Officeworks.
I tried using a ball point pen pen. I have a jar full of them because every organisation seems to give them away now with their company name on it. Naturally not one of them was out of ink!
I just drew over the marked line pressing quite hard, worked really well - the resulting crease was like a knife edge. Very pleased and much quicker than trying to fold on the line by hand.
If you want the template
it is here though this one is the original I have tidied it up since then and will upload that soon.
Thanks all of you.
If you want to know why all this is necessary read on:
Australia Post has a standard rate of postage for a
'Post Office Preferred' envelope which measures no more than 130mm by 240mm by 5mm (thick). For anything up to 250gm within those dimensions postage anywhere in Australia is 70c (35p) or 60c for pensioners. They used to sell a special envelope for CD/DVDs until they realised they were doing themselves out of revenue so they stopped making it and only sell a small cardboard box which is larger and hence is charged by weight (always more than 70c). The bastards! Anyway now I make my own.
