Re: Agnes's Poems
There's Someone In My Home
There is someone in my home
and I think he's here to stay
I never ever see him
but he hasn't gone away
Sometimes he's very tidy
and sometimes makes a mess
he clears away some little things
to where, he makes me guess
The spectacles I leave behind
have been tidied out of view
but things tucked safe in drawers
look as if from them they've flew
He doesn't seem to like my food
I think he buys his own
Except my cakes, they disappear
and I don't know where they've gone.
He must also like my chocolates
and leaves the box half full
I only eat just one or two
At least that is my usual rule.
And when I'm watching telly
all I can do is sit and sigh
For I'm sure he changes channels
with some remote wifi
My wine bottle is oft empty,
though glasses there is one
so I think he washes his glass up
before my glass is done
I'm getting rather used to him
I'd miss him if he went
Although I've never seen him
Many days with him I've spent.
And when I ever talk to him
he never answers me
I tell him all my troubles
'till answers I clearly see
I hope he never leaves me
his company I would miss
but someone else would take his place
There surely always is
If you say I put it somewhere
but in fact it's not there at all
You know for sure you've got one
and may have left it in the hall
You never will be lonely
If you have one in your house
he's quite good company
and is quieter than a mouse
