It is wonderful of you to have a special day to celebrate such a famous and historic team. Good on ya.

No mention of it on the TV so far. Strange that.
Ack, it could be perceived as being "nationalist" and divisive, couldn't it? Can't be having that in this day an' age, goodness!

Happy St Georges Day, celebrate well!

Is it a she, as the horse is a Stallion? Might be a nice combination.

Not strange at all considering left-wing bias - no mention by Labour MPs either I notice.

Thought for the Day (taken from Twitter this morning)

Displayed in a London railway station. Don't know how long it lasted before it was removed...

Its true though....the media are making us ashamed (paranoid, even?) to celebrate our culture. I, for one, am pleased that each of our 4 nations can have a special day - it doesn't make us anything but proud of our wee bit of the world, and what's wrong with that?

Re: Happy St George's Day

No wonder we British are mixed up!

Our Welsh, Irish, Scottish & English families are as mixed together as anything can ever be!

I , for one, only have to go back through one level to find all four countries of Birth in the mix.

My Father was of English birth.

My wife was 1 generation from Irish.

My Mother was born & bread in Glasgow.

One of our uncles was from Colwyn Bay.

Don't underestimate how close many of us are - despite all of the cries for independence!
