Moments that made you proud

What honour/accolade have you received in the past that you are proud about?

40 odd years ago, she said she loves me. Through thick & thin, she still loves me.

Extraordinary and impressive . You should be proud because what they say about getting to Carnegie Hall is true.

Getting this far, unaided, but may have been aided, without realising it, who knows?

Re: Moments that made you proud

I suppose the thing that sticks in my mind to most was getting our first house (built in the 1920s) which we bought just as we were getting married (1972). The house was ours as my cousin- in- law owned it and was doing it up for us to move into. we paid what he got it for plus the renovation.

WOW was walking through that front door of the first house for the first time the feeling was amazing having scrimped and saved and put in every hour possible into earning to buy it.

Guzimping was rife and high mortgage interest rates about 13% if my memory serves me correctly. Houses sold before going on the market almost

The thing is "IT WAS OURS"

Just being able to say welcome to our home unbelievable

Middle of a terrace of 3 with one room downstairs- kitchen and bathroom behind and 2 bedrooms upstairs.. No furniture managed to afford a bed - fridge and cooker wedding presents and a couple of deckchairs to sit on.. went to night school and made a coffee table which we ate from and that was about it.
So poor even spent 2 hours in a sale at a department store deciding if we could afford a milk pan costing abot 50 pennies old money

I've managed to reach the age of 66 without ever receiving an honour or accolade of any kind. That is an achievement in itself.
