Re: Extraordinary facts

"Since 2018, Nilanshi Patel, from Modasa, Gujarat, India, has held the Guinness World Records title for the longest hair on a teenager.

At the time, she was 16 years old, and her hair measured 170.5 cm (5 ft 7 in).

Last July, just before her 18th birthday, Nilanshi’s hair was measured for the last time and reached an incredible 200cm (6ft 6.7 inches), securing her the iconic title for the longest hair ever on a teenager as well."

Imagine that. Hair 6'7" long. And we're all moaning because we haven't had our hair cut for a few weeks.

Let me to tell you about something I just read tonight and found it hard to even imagine, let alone believe.

In the 18th century, there was a family in Russia called Vassilyev, who broke the record for the greatest number of children born to one mother.

Valentina Vassilyev gave birth to 69 children!!
These were made up of 16 pairs of twins, seven tripulets, and four sets of quadruplets!

Can you imagine that? I am surprised it didn't kill her giving birth to that many, and multiple births too.
The article didn't say how many survived.

Does anyone else know any interesting or extraordinary facts?
You should see that Northern woman on Monty Python's The Meaning of Life.

Ants are brilliant! They can lift up to 50 times their own body weight.....

They don't come out very well under Foxy's boot though...

I wonder how credible the story of the woman who supposedly had 69 children actually is? I pulled up the drawbridge after giving birth to three!

Many of the events in my life have seemed less than credible in retrospect, but they did happen.

I still find it incredible that this butterfly, which landed on my hand, stayed there long enough for me to take a photo of it with my camera.

I posted the origins of the sayings "Rule of Thumb" and "Fair to Middling" in another thread earlier this afternoon.
