41 Dogs in a 3 bedroom semi

Did anyone see this programme ? I only caught up with it last night as I had recorded it .
The couple with the 41 dogs were nothing but glorified puppy farmers . They were breeding French Bulldogs funnily enough the most expensive puppies I have seen for sale .There's no way these dogs can be looked after properly , they were doing the toilet all over the place so not even housetrained .
I did wonder also what sort of council allows anyone to keep that number of dogs . I love dogs but even I wouldn't like to be living next door to 41 . I did also wonder if they are paying tax on all their earnings from their rather lucrative business .
I have honestly no idea why anyone would buy a puppy from people like that .

I saw that programme too Abbey. £1,000 that woman charged for the stud fee. No wonder she was holding on to it at the mating and making sure he did his stuff!

I agree the council is clearly barking allowing that number, I believe though they compromised and she had cut down from a far larger number from what was being said. What puzzled me was we saw lots of food, poo indoors and nails being manicured but no leads collars and walkies ?

I think the nails being manicured was probably just to try and make herself look like a caring owner . I thought it was a real shame the blind dog living in all that mayhem . Surely a quieter home would have been much more suitable .
Just read that the woman who brought her dog to be mated is a well known puppy farmer and regularly sells puppies with abnormalities .
The price of French Bulldog pups is around £2000 . Just saw someone with a litter of 11 for sale . Nice little earner then .

I'm more than a little surprised that a smallish dog like that can carry 11 pups. Bet that was 2 litters.

Not sure Mups our late Rosie (long coat chihuahua) was one of 10 pups her mum had produced, she was smaller than the dog we saw on the TV.

I'm amazed Julie. I wouldn't have thought that possible. Was she able to have a natural birth or was it a Caeser?

Re: 41 Dogs in a 3 bedroom semi

It was a caesar and the reason they stopped breeding from her as it cost them a fortune. We got Rosie free and they gave away several others as they all had problems - Rosie had a terrific under bite which caused feeding her to be a bit of a trial but we found a food she could manage and when she was 2 years old the vet said she was grown enough to fix the problem so she had surgery which made a big difference.

These programmes make me so angry, I don't have any pets at the moment but I've had dogs and cats in the past. How can they be well looked after, they can't, they're just a money spinner. Disgusting...

She was so nasty to her husband, (who sounded like a wet fish!) when he was trying to say she was ineffective when telling them to stop barking.

That showman with 60 pets made me laugh...he really did reckon himself, I thought!
