Nonsense. My last bungalow had water storage tanks in the loft.

Tpin, I don't think there are any tanks in the loft apart from overflow but I can't get up there at the moment as my ladder is elsewhere.

Outside tap, also just by the kitchen, is not working either.

Of course lofts are big enough.
A bungalow has the same sized loft as any other house with the same ground floor area.

As there's water to some taps and not others suggests there's two(or more) seperate supplies from the pump.
The fact you have water also suggests there's no pre-pump/pump problem(unless the pump draws 2 seperate supplies which is highly unlikely)which leads me to think 'blockage' possibly in a filter.

Edit: the above is only my opinion, based on a general understanding of the system and limited experience in installation.

Thanks. It does seem most likely. But where would I find said filter?

They are in-line and will be anywhere post pump.
Any more than that I couldn't say without knowing the set-up you have.

Re: Advice please - water problem

I ruled out pressure problems(burst/partial blockage)as I'd expect there'd still be some water at the tap, even if only a trickle.
